Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On February 23, 2017, Schweitzer-Mauduit International, Inc. (the “Company”) announced that Heinrich Fischer informed the Board of Directors (the “Board”) that he does not wish to stand for re-election to the Board at the Company’s 2017 Annual Meeting of Stockholders due to competing time demands. Mr. Fischer’s decision was not the result of any disagreement with the Board on matters related to the Company’s operations, policies or practices.
