18, 2005, Mercer International Inc. (the "Company") announced by press release
the filing of a Registration Statement on Form S-4 with the Securities and
Exchange Commission in connection with the proposed change in the legal form of
the Company from a Massachusetts trust organized under the laws of the State of
Washington to a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Washington.
