Item 2.02 – Results of Operations and Financial Condition

 

On October 20, 2004, the registrant announced its third-quarter 2004 net earnings of $101 million, or $1.50 per diluted share, compared to $105 million, or $1.48 per diluted share, in the same period last year. The registrant also announced it expects full-year earnings for 2004 to be in the range of $5.85 to $5.95 per share, versus the previous guidance of $6.20 to $6.35 per share.
