Earnings Release: Monday, February 28, 2011, After the Market Closes

ATHENS, GREECE – February 23, 2011 – Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd (NYSE: EXM), an owner and operator of dry bulk carriers and a provider of worldwide seaborne transportation services for dry bulk cargoes, announced today that it will release its results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2010 after the market closes on Monday, February 28, 2011.


On the next day, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. EST, the company’s management will host a conference call to discuss the results.
