Maritime Carriers Ltd. (the “Company”) announced today that it intends to hold a
Special Meeting of Shareholders on April 1, 2008 (the “Meeting”) to vote to
amend the Company’s Articles of Incorporation to allow for a change in the
structure and composition of the Company’s Board of Directors in connection with
the Company’s proposed merger with Quintana Maritime Limited. The
record date for the Meeting is March 5, 2008. The Company expects to mail proxy
materials to its shareholders no later than March 17,
2008.
