UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / December 12, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Michael S. Brannan as a Top Professional for his expertise in business consulting. Though he recently retired from his position as chief operating officer at Legacy Leaders Institute, his reputation in law and leadership continues to precede him. Now, Mr. Brannan dedicates himself to making the world a better place.

Establishing an Early Work Ethic
From a young age, Mr. Brannan has been acknowledged for his strong work ethic. At age seven, he delivered newspapers in Colorado. Even in the face of blizzards, he got out of bed and made deliveries. In high school and beyond, this dedication persisted.
As part of his student council, Mr. Brannan became aware of the importance of showing kindness to everyone. Attending a diverse high school in Alameda, he could confidently say he was friends with everyone. Whenever he attends high school reunions, former classmates still express their appreciation for his kindness.
Joining the United States Department of Homeland Security
Mr. Brannan held this philosophy as he pursued a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology and psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. After graduating, Mr. Brannan joined the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a law enforcement officer in 1995. Four years later, he was promoted to the rank of special agent.
During Mr. Brannan's work as a special agent, the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001, took place. Renewed in his dedication, he collaborated on a disaster fraud statute and participated in the investigations that followed. In doing so, Mr. Brannan combated corruption and ensured accountability in the wake of the disaster.
From this point, Mr. Brannan rose through the ranks, serving as resident agent in charge and senior special agent before reaching the position of criminal investigations program manager. At this time, he guided his agency to earn several awards and personally received the highest award from the Department of Homeland Security's Office of the Inspector General. Following these achievements, he retired in 2024.
Contributions in International Law and Reasons for Success
Following his retirement from the Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Brannan briefly joined Boardsi as an executive board member, then became chief operating officer and chief technical officer at Legacy Leaders Institute. In this role, he helps to manage international affairs and contributes to global improvement efforts. In order to further his expertise, Mr. Brannan recently enrolled at the Université Catholique de Louvain to pursue a master's degree in international law.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Brannan has recognized the importance of resilience and commitment. He attributes much of his past and present success to these attributes and remains dedicated to a future that leverages them through leadership. Adhering to this perseverance, he feels he has been guided to do the right thing, lead by example and make effective choices for the future.
Ambition for the Future
Although he has now retired from his position at the Legacy Leaders Institute, Mr. Brannan's dedication to law enforcement remains. He is an active proponent of doing good in local communities and finds as much happiness in proving people innocent as in holding others accountable for crimes. By living a resilient and dedicated life, he aims to make the world as peaceful as possible.
