Now in its Ninth Year, the Prestigious Seal of Distinction Award Honors Outstanding US Non-Profits that place Veterans Into High-Quality Jobs

Submissions Now Open through Sunday, August 14

Today the Call of Duty Endowment announced the beginning of its application process for the ninth annual “Seal of Distinction” Award, which recognizes U.S. non-profits that place veterans into high-quality jobs for the highest levels of effectiveness, efficiency, quality, and integrity. The prestigious award is accompanied by a $30,000 unrestricted grant, and provides the opportunity to apply for future restricted funding. The 2021 winner was American Corporate Partners.

For organizations to be considered, they must be a U.S.-based non-profit and complete an online application here, now through Sunday, August 14 at 11:59pm Pacific. Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for the award:

  • Non-profit, with 501(c)(3) status
  • A mission statement that features how the organization directly assists unemployed and underemployed veterans find high-quality jobs
  • Provide data on the following areas:
    • Number of veterans placed in jobs
    • Quality of job placements made
    • Average cost-per-placement
    • Average starting salary
    • Retention rate (six and 12-month)
    • Key employee background checks
    • Additional organizational and financial health indicators
  • Complete an online application, provide requested documentation, and be prepared to submit to verification procedures by Deloitte
  • No previous “Seal of Distinction” winners from past years will be considered for this year’s program

“The Seal of Distinction is the preeminent standard of excellence in the veteran employment sector,” said Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment. “We are incredibly proud to have funded the placement of 100,000 veterans into jobs, and through this award, we will recognize and fund the most effective veteran employment non-profits to help continue our mission.”

The Call of Duty Endowment’s outside Board of Advisors will review and identify the top applications as semi-finalists. Deloitte will then review and assess these semi-finalists on a pro-bono basis. Winners will be selected by the Endowment’s Grants Committee.

The Call of Duty Endowment launched the “Seal of Distinction” in August 2013. Since the award’s inception, winners have received $61.2 million in grants.

Since its founding in 2009, the Endowment has funded the placement of more than 100,000 veterans into meaningful employment. In 2021, the Endowment placed 16,138 veterans at an average starting salary of $64,163. Across its history, the Endowment has helped veterans capture more than $5.6 billion in first-year salaries and demonstrated the value of veterans in the civilian workplace to companies across the U.S. and the U.K.
