CurlyCon LA Returns to Celebrate the Full Spectrum of Natural Texture, Sustainability, and Empowerment

Making beauty event history, CurlyCon LA invites the natural hair community and beauty brands to experience an inclusive space that celebrates all hair textures

Following its trailblazing debut in 2023, CurlyCon LA announces its return to Downtown Los Angeles, expanding its mission to unite and celebrate women of all hair textures and cultural backgrounds. Created by digital pioneer and entrepreneur Ava Pearl, CurlyCon LA serves as ground zero for brands to share their latest products with panels designed to support texture education for all hair types and create a safe, inclusive space for community building.

“CurlyCon LA represents a unique safe space where people can openly discuss their hair journey, share experiences, and find community,” says Pearl, founder and CEO of Curly Culture. “Whether you're Black, Asian, Latina, Persian, or White—we're celebrating the full spectrum of natural hair textures and their deep cultural significance. Our conversations around hair often evolve into deeper discussions about identity, self-acceptance, and cultural pride."

The full-day experience, sponsored by LUSH, Shea Moisture, Rizos Curls, and Cantu, will feature expert-led panels, including “Damaged to Defined” which explores the transition to healthy curls—and dedicated demonstrations specifically addressing type 4 hair needs. The expanded programming reflects CurlyCon's commitment to serving every segment of the natural hair community.

Community-driven panels such as “Raising Curly Kids: Hair, Identity, & Empowerment" will discuss the intersection of hair and cultural identity; while "Decoding Curl Chemistry" will dive deep into the science of textured hair care. Further, "The Beauty of Type 4 Hair: Myths, Care & Confidence” will address the specific needs of the Type 4 hair community. The event will also feature live styling demonstrations, a content creation lounge, and networking opportunities with leading beauty influencers and industry experts.

In response to recent Los Angeles wildfires that have impacted local communities, CurlyCon LA has partnered with several community organizations to provide beauty resources and support to affected families. The initiative builds on Curly Culture's existing community work, which includes product donations to the Altadena Girls program and other youth-focused organizations.
