United Against Fentanyl Taps Former Head of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to Help Tackle Fentanyl Crisis

United Against Fentanyl, a national organization dedicated to “innovative, bold, and effective initiatives,” today announced the appointment of Debbie Weir as an Advisory Board Member. Ms. Weir, formerly of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Moms Demand Action, brings 35 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, advocacy, and community mobilization. She will provide strategic guidance to the organization to help scale its initiatives including Walk for Lives, to be held in hundreds of U.S. cities later this year.

Ms. Weir has spent her career leading high-impact national initiatives, strengthening advocacy efforts, and mobilizing communities to drive policy change. As a CEO at Mothers Against Drunk Driving, she played a crucial role in reducing impaired driving deaths. She later served as Chief Mission Officer at Everytown for Gun Safety, where she helped shape gun violence prevention strategies and supported the rapid expansion of Moms Demand Action, one of the largest grassroots advocacy movements in the country.
