Proven marketing leader brings deep expertise in audience growth, digital strategy, and consumer insights to strengthen McAfee’s global brand

McAfee Corp. (“McAfee”), a global leader in online protection, today announced the appointment of Stephanie Fried as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

Fried joins McAfee from Fandom, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer, leading all marketing efforts across a portfolio of brands, including TV Guide, Metacritic, and GameSpot. As Chief Marketing Officer at McAfee, Fried will lead global marketing and communication efforts for the direct-to-consumer brand. With her expertise in cultivating authentic connections with brands, Fried will focus on delivering enhanced value and engagement for existing McAfee customers while introducing the 37-year-old iconic online safety brand to a new set of audiences globally. Fried joins at a pivotal time as McAfee works to deepen awareness of its sole focus on consumer protection, expanding beyond traditional antivirus software to offer a range of privacy, identity, and security solutions that fit seamlessly into consumers’ everyday digital lives. Stephanie will report to Craig Boundy, President and Chief Executive Officer of McAfee.

"Stephanie is a dynamic leader with a sharp instinct for what drives brand engagement and business growth," said Craig Boundy, McAfee CEO. "Her expertise in data-driven marketing, consumer insights, and digital transformation will be critical as we sharpen our focus on delivering the best possible experience for our customers. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving consumer trust, accelerating growth, and making online protection accessible and engaging for everyone. I’m excited to welcome her to the team and confident she will play a key role in shaping the future of McAfee."

With 20 years of experience in marketing, research, and analytics, Fried has held senior leadership roles at Condé Nast, Discovery Communications, VEVO, and NBC Universal, driving audience expansion, digital transformation, and brand impact across a range of industries. At Condé Nast, she led marketing, research, and analytics for brands including The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Vogue, materially growing digital audiences and increasing engagement year-over-year. Prior to that, she played a key role in developing data-driven marketing strategies and audience insights at Discovery Communications, VEVO, and NBC Universal, where she helped reshape digital engagement and growth strategies.

"The need for trusted, innovative online and identity protection has never been greater, and McAfee is uniquely positioned to empower hundreds of millions of people worldwide to live safer digital lives," said Stephanie Fried, incoming McAfee CMO. "At McAfee, we offer an essential service; everyone who connects online deserves the confidence and assurance to do so without fear of compromising their financial and personal information. I am excited to create lasting connections with new and existing customers by building on McAfee’s incredible legacy and delivering more connected tools and experiences across our full range of B2C products and services.”
