Ferring Pharmaceuticals is honored to recognize World IVF Day by amplifying the voices of those who have experienced the emotional and often unseen challenges of navigating infertility. TV personality Jessel Taank, Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and leading reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Lucky Sekhon are sharing their personal stories and first-hand perspectives to help normalize the conversation around infertility. Together, they are spotlighting Fertility Out Loud, a digital platform and social community made possible by Ferring. Created to meet the diverse needs of aspiring parents, Fertility Out Loud offers personal stories, expert insights, and helpful resources to empower them at every step toward building their family.
World IVF Day, observed annually on July 25, commemorates the birth of Louise Joy Brown, the first baby born through IVF, in 1978. Since then, this proven scientific innovation has helped bring more than 10 million babies into the world, turning the dream of parenthood into a reality for so many.¹
“IVF gave me the family I had always dreamed of, but the journey was far from easy,” said Taank, a mother of twins. “By sharing my experience, I hope to help other women feel seen, supported, and empowered to speak openly about theirs.”
One in six people worldwide experience infertility.2 Yet for many, the path to parenthood can feel isolating, overwhelming or emotionally exhausting.
“Starting our family was not straightforward,” said Lipinski, the youngest woman to win an Olympic gold medal in figure skating. “It took perseverance and determination to keep moving forward, and now I have a beautiful daughter who is the light of my life. What helped me most was connecting with others and leaning on trusted resources for comfort and guidance. That kind of perspective, reassurance and encouragement is exactly what Fertility Out Loud provides. While becoming a parent is deeply personal, by sharing our stories, we can help uplift each other.”
Recognizing that each fertility journey is unique, Fertility Out Loud offers a variety of tools and resources for all aspiring parents, such as one-on-one texting with trained fertility coaches at no cost, a specialist locator tool to find nearby clinics and in-depth articles that explore the medical and emotional realities of infertility and IVF.
“Infertility affects individuals across all demographics, regardless of age, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation,” said Dr. Lucky Sekhon, reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist with Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA) of New York. “If you're experiencing infertility, know you are not alone. It’s important to understand your options, ask informed questions, and feel confident in the decisions you’re making. Access to credible information and a strong support system can make a meaningful difference.”
Fertility Out Loud is an illustration of Ferring Pharmaceuticals’ decades-long commitment to advancing fertility care and championing those on the path to parenthood. Through continued investment in research and development, elevating impactful voices and offering meaningful resources, Ferring is addressing the needs of today’s aspiring parents and the healthcare professionals who care for them.
