As part of its ongoing commitment to the Greenwood community, North West Exteriors, owned by Trent Field, recently donated $2,000 to Greater Greenwood United Ministry (GGUM) in support of its Crisis Ministry services. GGUM provides vital assistance to individuals and families facing urgent needs across the Greenwood area. That same commitment to care and reliability is reflected in the company’s day-to-day work, as North West Exteriors delivers professional exterior cleaning services throughout Greenwood and the Lakelands, including power washing, soft washing, gutter cleaning, and Christmas light installation. While the company is known for quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service, giving back to the community has always been a core part of its mission.
Now in its seventh year of giving, North West Exteriors donates a percentage of its annual sales to local charitable organizations. This year, the company increased its impact by contributing an additional 5% from its new Christmas light installation service. Past contributions have supported Beyond Abuse, Greenwood Pathway House, Lakelands Baptist Association, West Cambridge Park, Meals on Wheels, and Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont. This year, the company selected Greater Greenwood United Ministry in recognition of its long-standing impact and critical role in crisis response.
Greater Greenwood United Ministry was selected this year due to the vital role its Crisis Ministry plays in the community — particularly during recent months when many families experienced temporary pauses in SNAP benefits, creating immediate food and housing insecurity. “When SNAP benefits were paused, it became very clear how quickly families can fall into crisis,” Field said. “GGUM stepped in to help people who were suddenly facing impossible choices. That really stood out to me.”
Field also noted a personal connection to GGUM through his church. Rice Memorial Baptist Church, where Field is an active member, is a community partner of Greater Greenwood United Ministry and has long supported its outreach and ministry efforts along with more than 60 other churches in the area.
“For me, giving back every year is about stewardship and responsibility,” Field added. “We’ve been blessed with the ability to serve this community through our business, and I believe it’s important to reinvest in organizations that are doing meaningful, hands-on work to help our neighbors.”
The $2,000 donation was delivered to Rosemary Bell, Executive Director, Greater Greenwood United Ministry. “We are incredibly grateful to Trent Field and North West Exteriors for this generous donation,” said Rosemary Bell, Executive Director of Greater Greenwood United Ministry. “Community partners like North West Exteriors make it possible for us to respond when families are facing crisis — whether that’s a sudden loss of benefits, a housing emergency, or food insecurity.”

Greater Greenwood United Ministry has served Greenwood County for more than 30 years, offering rent and eviction financial assistance, utility support, food pantry services, and crisis intervention. The organization operates with the support of volunteers, grants, community partnerships, and local donors.
“We are not a band-aid organization,” said Rosemary Bell, Executive Director of Greater Greenwood United Ministry. “Our goal is sustainability, not dependency. In addition to emergency assistance, GGUM partners with local organizations to connect unemployed individuals with job opportunities, provides budgeting education, and offers guidance to help clients develop long-term financial stability.”
In addition to its Crisis Ministry, GGUM operates a comprehensive Medical Ministry, which began as a primary care clinic and has expanded into a critical healthcare resource for underserved individuals. Services include primary care and internal medicine, Gynecology and women’s health services, an in-house pharmacy, vision care in partnership with the Lions Club, and dental services through volunteer dentists. These medical services provide affordable, compassionate care to individuals who might otherwise go without access to essential healthcare.
Through continued generosity and community investment, North West Exteriors and Greater Greenwood United Ministry demonstrate how local businesses and nonprofit organizations can work together to create lasting impact. North West Exteriors encourages other local business owners to join in supporting organizations like GGUM that address both immediate crisis needs and long-term stability. Together, Greenwood’s business community can help strengthen families today while building a more resilient future for the entire community.
