Kansas City, MO– DM Injury Law proudly hosted the 2nd Annual “Who’s Got This?” Citywide Basketball Championship this Valentine’s Day, bringing together young athletes, families, and community members for a day of competition, community spirit, and charitable giving. Held at the Homefield Showcase Center in Kansas City, the event welcomed 22 youth basketball teams from across the region and celebrated the positive impact of youth sports.
The tournament created an exciting environment for young athletes to showcase their talent while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Families, coaches, and supporters filled the venue to cheer on the players and celebrate the growing youth basketball community in Kansas City.
To add a festive Valentine’s Day touch, DM Injury Law provided roses for the women in attendance and cookies for the children, helping create a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere throughout the event.
The championship also featured an entertaining halftime show that included a performance by the KC Ole School Drill Team and a three-point contest coached by Attorney Ryan Watson. The activities added excitement to the day and kept the crowd energized between games.
Several teams earned top honors in their divisions. In the 5th Grade bracket, Mentality 2033 captured first place, with Belton Pirates 2033 finishing as runners-up. The 6th Grade division saw Hoop Nation take the championship title, followed by KCHS Hoops 2032 in second place. In the 7th Grade bracket, MOKAN Future Tate secured first place, while GCI Aztecs finished as the runner-up.
Beyond the competition, the event also focused on giving back to the community. All 22 participating teams contributed to a donation drive benefiting Harvesters, a regional food bank that supports families in need. Thanks to the generosity of players and families, more than 500 items were donated during the tournament.
A special recognition goes to the Warriors’ 6th Grade team, coached by Anthony Sansone, which won the Harvesters Donation Drive after collecting an impressive 136 donated items. Additional recognition included Mesiah Douglas for winning the PIG contest and the Falcons’ 7th Grade team for their outstanding sportsmanship during the tournament.
