The Buggyra ZM Racing team unveiled its new weapon for the truck category at the legendary Dakar Rally during an event in Hořovice. The Buggyra Invictus, developed under the guidance of experienced driver Martin Šoltys, already signals big ambitions through its name.
-- In Latin, Invictus means nothing less than Unbeatable. Karel Poslední will once again represent Buggyra, driving the team’s Buggyra EVO3 truck.

“I believe this truck will be unbeatable,” said Martin Šoltys confidently.
This is a completely new model that differs from the previous EVO3 generation in virtually every respect. “Everything has been redesigned, everything has been improved, and the truck is lighter. We enjoy creating new things and improving the vehicle piece by piece. Plus, here at Buggyra, we have a group of people who genuinely enjoy building the Invictus,” said Martin, praising the crew at the workshop.
“When you see this monster taking shape before your eyes, it’s an incredible feeling for all of us. The Tatra chassis unfortunately has the disadvantage of using a heavy central tube, and there’s nothing we can do about that. So, we tried to make everything else as light as possible. At the same time, we’re ironing out all the bugs and striving to make the truck even better than the EVO3,” explained Šoltys.
And how do you lighten something as massive as a Dakar truck? “For example, by drilling holes wherever possible. Where that isn’t feasible, we use lighter materials,” revealed Buggyra’s technical director, Robin Dolejš.
The Invictus differs from its predecessor not only through new technical solutions and the use of even more advanced materials, but also visually. The two trucks can be distinguished at first glance. “It’s more angular, and we’ve used a proven cab design. The Invictus will simply be more modern — we’re keeping up with the times,” added Šoltys, who is preparing for his eighth Dakar Rally.
His teammate Karel Poslední made his debut this year and performed admirably. In January, he will tackle the demanding stages in Saudi Arabia with the EVO3 truck that he has “inherited” from Šoltys. “We’ll be driving a more comfortable truck that’s also faster — which means it’ll definitely hurt more. But I can’t wait,” he said with a grin.
Buggyra ZM Racing team also introduced a new partner — Albixon, the largest European manufacturer of swimming pools, enclosures, and pool accessories, with more than thirty years of tradition and exports to over 90 countries worldwide.
“I’m very happy about this renewed partnership. Albixon is a symbol of quality, innovation, and technical precision, and I believe these are exactly the qualities that connect us,” said Buggyra’s Head of Communications, Jan Kalivoda.
The 2026 Dakar Rally will start on January 3 in the port city of Yanbu on the Red Sea coast and finish at the same location after fourteen days. Saudi Arabia will thus host the world’s most famous endurance rally for the seventh consecutive time.
“The organizers have yet to reveal the detailed route. We’re staying in Saudi Arabia, so no major surprises are expected. This time, however, the big dunes of the Empty Quarter will be skipped — whether that’s an advantage or not is hard to say,” commented Jan Kalivoda.
In addition to its two trucks, Buggyra ZM Racing will also enter two cars in the elite Ultimate class for the 48th edition of the Dakar Rally. It has already been confirmed that talented young driver Aliyyah Koloc will compete, while the name of the second driver will be announced at the end of November.
