Ferrari Gallery Announces Milieu Earth Group Exhibition Opening on Earth Day

DALLAS - March 21, 2022 - PRLog -- Dallas' top eco-artists will be featured in the MILIEU EARTH exhibition at Ferrari Gallery located in the Design District at 1605 Dragon Street, Dallas, Texas 75207, April 22 – July 2, 2022. The theme of the curated collection focuses on The Environmental Condition Which Surrounds Us.

Ferrari Gallery co-owner and eco-artist, DEBRA FERRARI, was inspired to curate the collection by her love of nature and passion for protecting the earth and by fellow conservationist, actor Leonardo DiCaprio. "The idea for this exhibit first came to me in 2015 after I saw Leonardo DiCaprio's documentary Before the Flood," explains Ferrari. "I was living in Colorado at the time and much of my daily life involved activities like hiking and being surrounded by nature. I then realized how easy is for people to become disconnected from nature and wildlife when they aren't exposed to it; so, I wanted to create a collection featuring our planet's most majestic and endangered creatures and use art to bring them to people's attention." Ferrari's collection being featured in the group exhibition is called the Ark collection. It shows the relationship between man and wildlife. The paintings are presented on a round canvas to represent the earth and are all either endangered or extinct species of animals.

The Milieu Earth collection also displays the work of five additional artists comprised of both established and emerging creators who have a passion for nature. Oil paintings by RAPHEAL CRUMP who is influenced by the culture of urban living and his life are part of the exhibit. Bronze geometric minimalism modern sculptures by JENNIFER TROICE capture the figures of wild animals. Ceramics by world-renowned sculptor KOSMAS BALLIS will be on display as well as photographs and NFT's by JEREMY McKANE who utilizes water and cameras to capture the human form and sea life. Metal sculptor JAMES FERRARI who has a tremendous passion for the ocean will be showing sea life sculptures made from metal and upcycled Ferrari car parts. "The whole theme of the artwork for this collection is nature inspired," continues Ferrari. "Through an artistic way and beautiful way, we have created an experience where people can be inspired and moved to think about how we are impacting the planet through art. I also wanted to focus on bringing in more local Dallas artists that have a love and care for nature."

Visitors will get an overwhelming visual presentation. Each artist will also discuss their inspiration for each piece and tell the story behind it in a special exhibition soiree and artist talk series on opening day which is also Earth Day. Ferrari says Earth Day was the perfect occasion to bring the Milieu Earth collection to the public. "April is a huge month in Dallas. There are so many cultural events, and I thought there is so much energy in the city in April, the whole month is arts month, and there could not have been a better time than Earth Day for our exhibit to open."

Ferrari is thrilled to see her idea come to life in bold, vivid colors and designs with the opening of the Milieu Earth exhibit. She concludes, "As an artist, I truly believe I have a responsibility to bring awareness to the plight of our planet. I fear that eventually our animals will lose their natural habitats and be confined to zoos. My part in preventing that is through my art and by supporting other eco-artists and organizations working to make a positive impact on our planet." Ten percent of all sales will benefit The International Fund for Animal Welfare (www.ifaw.org)  and Virgin Unite (unite.virgin.com/unite).

The Milieu Earth Exhibit opens Friday, April 22nd, Earth Day. Meet the artists on Saturday, April 23rd from Noon – 5 PM during the Opening Soiree.
