Popular Patch is growing rapidly. Presently they are looking at a merger with the company that started it all.
PRLog - May 29, 2014 - COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Popular Patch LLC announced today that they are in talks with McGrogan’s Patch Designs to merge efforts into one large company.  On the heels of a launch only a little over two years ago, Popular Patch is pursuing its first purchase of one of the largest military patch wholesalers in the world.

McGrogan’s Patch Designs was started over 30 years ago by Don McGrogan, a United States Navy Veteran, and has built an empire to be reckoned with, along with his son, Randy Sweet.  “McGrogan’s is a household name for any military patch collector.” Joshua Cypher says confidently, who is the grandson of Don McGrogan, CEO and part owner of Popular Patch.  “From the beginning, I wanted to carry on the family business and keep the name of McGrogan’s alive, and this is the blending of our visions.”  McGrogan’s currently offers over eight thousand military unit patch reproductions to collectors, other retailers, and veterans from every United States military branch.  Don started selling patches to his shipmates and other Navy friends while he was still serving.  After retiring Senior Chief from his military career of twenty six years, Don continued to sell patches through a small used bookstore he owned and operated in downtown Coeur d’Alene until patch sales grew to be the primary income when he closed the store to pursue McGrogan’s Patch Designs full time.

Joshua Cypher along with partners Christopher Drake and Daniel Kauffman, all residents of Coeur d’Alene ID, have big plans for Popular Patch with the merger of McGrogan’s Patch Designs; plans to continue the vision for military patches as well as expand into other categories.  “Military unit patches is where this all started and we won’t leave this behind,” Christopher Drake states proudly, “but we would be remiss not to tap all the potential in other markets.”  Popular Patch will be expanding their offering of patches in multiple categories such as zombie patches, gun patches, biker patches, religious patches, and morale patches.  “We love our heroes.  We love our military.  And we will continue to honor the tradition of McGrogan’s by branding our entire military section with the name that started it all.” continues Drake, “So now we have a great opportunity to capture the attention of an entirely new generation of patch enthusiasts with subject matter that is important to them.”

Under the direction of Don McGrogan and Randy Sweet, Popular Patch LLC will keep expanding its military patch selection and wholesale division.  Joshua Cypher and Christopher Drake will maintain operations and marketing as well as visionary growth of the business.  Over the course of the next year, McGrogan’s will be shoring up current inventory, books, and databases to prepare for the merger, while Popular Patch oversees new category offerings as well as implementing strategic third party selling sites such as eBay and Amazon.
