PRLog - May 26, 2015 - DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas -- RED Arena (Riding Equines for the Disabled) is hosting its 5th Annual Round-Up Event on Saturday, May 30th, from 9 a.m. to 1.p.m. at their headquarters at 1601 Bell Springs Road, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.

RED Arena Round-Up is a rodeo-style play day that is free and open to the public. At the event families can enjoy a bounce house, hay rides, fair games, a mini horse obstacle course, a petting zoo, mini donkey cart rides, raffles, a silent auction, breakfast tacos and BBQ, all to support RED Arena, a local non-profit riding center for kids and adults with disabilities.

Since inception RED Arena’s mission has been to empower individuals with physical, mental and emotional challenges through horses. Round Up keeps growing and getting better every year. The “rodeo” events are designed for every level of rider to compete and show off their skills. In addition to the RED Arena riders, kids from neighboring local communities are invited to bring their own horses and join in the fun too (pre-registration is required to participate in the rodeo style events.)

“Round-Up amazes me every year. Watching families beaming with pride at the success of their child on a huge horse, a child who otherwise may struggle daily with all the little things we take for granted, never gets old,” said Founder and Executive Director of RED Arena, Jennifer Young. “It is heartwarming, to say the least, to see a rider with disabilities light up as they complete a skill or do a trick on their horse to the cheers of the crowd. It also reminds me what a great community we live in when you see kids of all ability levels competing with compassion and grace together on their horses.”

The Round Up is a great way for the community to see what therapeutic riding is all about. Currently, RED Arena serves almost 100 kids and adults with disabilities each week through their riding programs, mental health services and newly added job training programs. “We want to share the success or our riders and we also want to promote more inclusive events in our community for kids of all ability levels to join in and share their unique gifts with each other,” said Young.

All donations for the fresh made breakfast tacos, BBQ, activities and silent auction go to support partial rider scholarships so no family carries a financial burden to receive services at RED Arena. Additionally, money raised will also fund 12 full scholarships for those in extreme financial need as well as for our military veterans, who never pay for participation in RED Arena programs.

You can also join us for a preview party in our main barn on Thursday, May 28th, from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. The preview party will grant you early access to silent auction bidding, free wine and snacks, therapeutic riding demonstrations and live music.
