SANTA FE, N.M. - May 3, 2018 - PRLog -- American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (ALI CLE) has announced Current Developments in Employment Law 2018 will be held on July 26 - 28, 2018, in Santa Fe.

Current Developments in Employment Law 2018 will welcome several new faculty members who bring expertise from the plaintiff and defense perspective including Daniel Bonnet of Martin & Bonnett PLLC (Phoenix, AR); Paul DeCamp of Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. (Washington, D.C.); and Edward Leyden of Leyden Law LLC (Bowie, MD). This year's program will feature a mock meet-and-confer between litigation adversaries focused on developing protocol for e-discovery.  And, as always, registrants will have opportunities to drill deeper into topics with colleagues and other registrants during breakfast roundtable discussions and other informal venues.

Topics to be addressed include:
  • Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission

  • Sexual harassment in the workplace after Weinstein and #MeToo!

  • Social media in the workplace

  • The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and its impact on employment law

  • A review of Supreme Court developments featuring commentary by a panel of judges
"To remain competent in this field, an employment lawyer needs to be constantly learning the tsunami of recent developments," said Planning Co-Chair Robert Fitzpatrick of Robert B. Fitzpatrick, PLLC of Washington, D.C. "Twenty-five years ago, in recognition of that reality, I recommended that a course be created for the specific purpose of offering employment lawyers the opportunity to learn from their colleagues and federal judges the most recent developments in this area of law. Thankfully, that recommendation was adopted. Every year, we receive accolades from registrants that the first day back to work, they are applying the practice tips learned from our faculty."

"We will have an exploration of topics from a representative of the EEOC, the judiciary, and experienced practitioners in both the formal presentations and informal opportunities throughout the program. That is one of the things that makes this course unique," adds Planning Co-Chair Frank Morris of Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. of Washington, D.C.
