Charlotte firm eyes prime block in South End for new mixed-use development

The Spectrum Cos. controls an approximately 5-acre block bounded by Carson Boulevard and Tryon, Catherine and Winnifred streets. For that block, Spectrum is now planning out a mixed-use redevelopment that will likely include two midrise office buildings, ground-floor retail and restaurant space, a boutique hotel and a large pedestrian plaza.
