April 9, 2020 - TheNewswire - Tinkerine(TM) Studios Ltd. (TSXV:TTD) ("Tinkerine" or the "Company") announces Protoplant, Inc. ("Protoplant") has joined Tinkerine's COVID-19 medical device initiative. Protoplant will supply filaments for use with Tinkerine's DittoPro and DittoPro-R 3D printers at a preferred price for the Education Production Consortium and Manufacturing Production Consortium.

Chief Executive Officer Eugene Suyu states; "We are excited to have Protoplant join our initiative as a preferred supplier for high quality filaments for the Education and Manufacturing Production Consortium. This allows members of the consortiums to access high quality materials at a preferred price to increase production in order to provide additional Personal Protective Equipment for frontline healthcare workers. Protoplant aligns with our Production of Things 2.0 initiative as we expand the Applied Design processes."

Protoplant manufactures premium filament with an emphasis on quality, creativity, and usability. "Our niche is complex composites, colors, and finishes in easy-to-print materials like PLA," says Protoplant Co-founder, Alexander Dick. However, being creative in this time of need took on new meaning. Alex continues, "In response to the overwhelming need for no-frills quality and reliability, Protoplant is producing basic, no additive PLA. We're keeping things simple for greater impact in meeting basic needs."

"Sometimes you want to keep things simple to reduce impact as well," states Alex. "Proto-pasta filaments are delivered on cardboard spools for reduced waste and shipping weight so enjoy globally and recycle locally." More about impact, Alex says, "We're grateful for the opportunity to align with Eugene and Tinkerine to make a positive impact in Canada."
