Acromegaly and gigantism are rare disorders of the pituitary gland, characterized by the hypersecretion of growth hormone (GH). In 98% of the cases of acromegaly and gigantism, the hypersecretion of GH results from a benign GH- secreting pituitary adenoma (Sesmilo, 2013).
