Ford becomes second big KC manufacturer to idle work due to chip shortgages

The Kansas City area's biggest manufacturer now joins GM in idling some local automobile production due to a global shortage of computer chips. The closing of the Transit line means more than 3,000 manufacturing employees will be without work.
