As a two-handed weapon, the Great Axe has slower damage output, but it more than makes up for it with being able to attack two or more targets at once. Unlike weapons such as the Hatchet, Sword and Shield, or Spear, the Great Axe doesn't have any ranged options for its Mastery Trees.
