WORCESTER, MA / ACCESSWIRE / June 29, 2015 / Mass Megawatts Wind Power, Inc. (PINKSHEETS:MMMW) today announced that they have completed development of their advanced, Solar-Power Tracking System (STS), which is scheduled for customer delivery. The design of the first completed unit, of a multi-unit sale, has been upgraded to protect against extreme weather, including winds up to 90 mph, and to streamline manufacturing processes. The advanced structural design will minimize the need for repairs and maintenance, and comes with a full performance guarantee over the first 10 years of operation. The company is working to fill current sales orders while expanding infrastructure to meet demand in the second half of the year and into 2016.
Recent modifications to the STS design allow more panels to be installed on each tracking platform, which automatically rotates to reposition the solar panels to directly face the sun as it travels from East to West throughout the day. This improves solar-power production by over 25% as compared to stationary systems. The first completed 2kW section of a solar tracking system purchased recently is shown on www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0J9Jzgh8Z4 or Mass Megawatts June 2015 on a You Tube video.
Unlike other tracking systems, the Mass Megawatts STS uses a low-cost framework that adds stability to the overall system. The STS increases system costs by approximately 7%, but improves solar power production by over 25% throughout the life of the unit. This delivers a strong financial return with payback projected in the third year of operation. This technology will benefit the solar industry and make solar tracking a standard, low-cost option for solar-power users across the globe.
With its patent pending, Solar Tracking System and very little debt, Mass Megawatts believes it is well positioned to reach 2015 short term sales goals while expanding its infrastructure to support mass-production targets in the longer term.
